Derek Andrews has been contributing to Toronto’s blues, jazz, folk and world music scenes for over 30 years in a range of capacities.  Today he is an arts consultant, manager, concert producer and music festival programmer.  He is Music Curator at the Luminato Festival, the president of the Toronto Blues Society, chair of the JUNO World Music advisory committee, and president of Worlds of Music Toronto.

His Global Café Artist Management provides management strategies to many independent Canadian musicians including Jayme Stone,  Digging Roots, Roberto Lopez, Carlos del Junco, Mr. Something Something, Kobo Town, Madagascar Slim, Silk Road (Qui Xia He), Tony Gouveia, Dominic Mancuso and Carmen Souza.

Renowned for his innovative music programming at the Harbourfront Centre from 1985-2003, Derek Andrews’ influence and reputation as an authority on ‘world music’ reaches beyond Toronto to the European Forum of Worldwide Music Festivals where he is a consultant member.
