Toronto’s musicians are on the move:
Jazz saxophonist Richard Underhill is running for Mayor of Toronto! Check out his platform at
http://www.underhillformayor.com/platform/ and watch out for fundraising and campaign gigs around town over the next few months. His campaign kicked off at Waterfalls Tapas Restaurant in his beloved Kensington Market. How cool is that?
Jazz drummer Daniel Barnes is in Ajijic, Jalisco State, Mexico right now working on a special music project slated for the Northern Lights Jazz Festival. Stay tuned for more details.
Jazz bassist Rich Brown joins the faculty at the Banff Centre as part of the Banff International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music May 19 – June 7, 2014.

Tabla player Ed Hanley is currently in India and sent this message:
“I’m in India for 3 months, studying music for the most part, in Kolkata & Pune (with master drummer Pandit Suresh Talwalkar). I’m also going to Bhopal to shoot some footage for an autorickshaw video about the Bhopal gas disaster for our song ‘City of Lakes’. I’m messaging you from the back of a cab in Mumbai!”
Roula Said & David Buchbinder are planning a month long family journey of ‘pleasure and discovery’ in Romania, Hungary and Turkey. Along with other marvelous plans, Roula will study with Turkish Roma master dancer, Rehan Tuzsuz .
